Baleras (Baleras, Baleras)[4] was the Imperial Capital of the Greater Garmillan Empire located on Garmillas and the seat of the empire's government.

Baleras was the capital of the Garmillas Grand Duchy, with the Desler private residence serving as Grand Duke Erich's seat of power. During Erich's reign, the aristocracy of the Grand Duchy began constructing Baleras Tower, meant to serve both as the new seat of Garmillas's government, and as a superweapon[5] aimed at Iscandar.[2]

Following the founding of the Greater Garmillan Empire, Abelt Desler continued to use Baleras as his Imperial Capital with Baleras Tower as his Presidential Office, but began the construction of Baleras II, an orbital fortress meant to serve as the new capital of the empire after the fullfillment of his "Great Unification" plan.[2][6][7] In July of 2199,[8] the city of Baleras became a battlefield between the forces of the Imperial Guard and those of the Earthling battleship Yamato. During the fighting, Desler abbandoned the city and Baleras Tower, declaring Baleras II as the new capital. In a moment of full delirium of omnipotence, he tried to drop a section of Baleras II over the old capital, hoping to destroy both Yamato, and the aristocrats and their weapon.[6] However, the Earthlings managed to blow up the falling structure before it hit the city.[9]

Following the fall of the Desler administration, Baleras was restored as the Imperial Capital by the new provisional government. The husk of the damaged Baleras Tower was not removed from the city,[6] and the new government moved its seat from the destroyed tower to a new facility.[10]

In late 2205, while the people of Baleras were in the midst of migrating from planet Garmillas to planet Garmann, the city, and the entire planet, came under attack by Dezariam. The attack shattered Garmillas's crust and volcanic erruptions plagued the city, killing multiple civilians. The Desler fleet led a rescue mission to save as many citizens as possible, but were forced to fall back to escape the planet's collapse.[11]
