The Autoplanet Golba, also referred to simply as Golba, was a Golba Class mobile fortress used by Dezariam which served as the flagship of the Magellan Dispatch Force under the command of Supreme Commander Meldarz.

It played a significant role in the Iscandar Incident after it travelled back in time to the year 2205, being the center of the Dezarian offensive against the Earth-Garmillas forces and planet Iscandar. It was destroyed at the end of the conflict, being caught in Iscandar's self-destruction at the hands of Queen Stasha.

History

The Autoplanet Golba was the mobile headquarters of the Magellan Dispatch Force, a fleet of the Dezariam Army under Supreme Commander Meldarz. During the Iscandar Transfer Plan in 3197, the force traveled back in time through the Spacetime Node to the year 2205 to relocate planet Iscandar using energy harnessed by Dezariam Hammers deployed on Garmillas. This process ultimately led to Garmillas’s destruction, as the planet was already in a deteriorating state.

Golba remained invisible for the first part of the Iscandar Incident

Following the arrival of Earth's 65th Escort Corps and the successful defense of Iscandar, Captain Susumu Kodai of the Earthling battleship Yamato attempted to establish a ceasefire and negotiate with Supreme Commander Meldarz aboard the the Golba. However, the attempt was abruptly interrupted when Abelt Desler, overcome with anger, fired Deusura III’s Desler cannon at the Golba. The attack proved ineffective, as the fortress’s trans phase armor completely nullified the wave motion energy-based weapon.

The Golba and accompanying Dezariam forces continued to disrupt efforts to evacuate the Garmillas Immigration Fleet. During an attempt to recover refugees on Iscandar, the Golba deployed its capture field to seize the UX-02, forcing surviving Dimensional Submarines to abandon the mission. The captured vessel was taken inside the fortress, where Annihilation Multi-Legged Tanks Garm-Biu slowly breached the hull and melted through the structure, ultimately killing the entire crew.

Subsequently, the Golba prepared to fire its Super Large Gravitational Field Convergence β Cannon directly at Iscandar. Intervention by the Hyuga, Deusura III, and the Yamato, all employing their wave motion shields, successfully neutralized the cannon’s first shot. Although this provided a temporary reprieve, the allied fleet soon detected the weapon charging once again. At this moment, Queen Stasha Iscandar demanded a ceasefire, warning that the Dezariam would not obtain their objective should they continue the assault.

Desler rams his flagship onto the Golba

During the ceasefire window, Desler once again fired Deusura III’s Desler Cannon at the Golba and rammed the damaged section of the fortress in an attempt to self-destruct his ship and destroy the enemy command center from within.

Shortly after a successful rescue of Stasha and her sister Yurisha from the Sanctel, the Golba redeployed its capture field in an attempt to seize the vessel carrying them, the dimensional submarine Cosmo Hound. Though the ship was able to evade capture, its crew jettisoned both its wings and a module containing a wave motion excavator to rapidly ascend into normal space. The excavator was captured and brought aboard the Golba, where it detonated, causing massive internal damage and triggering a chain reaction of explosions throughout the fortress.

In a final act of desperation, Meldarz ordered the Super Large Gravitational Field Convergence β Cannon to fire upon both the Earth and Garmillas fleets. However, the attempt failed, as Stasha activated the planet’s self-destruct mechanism which destroyed Iscandar. The resulting energy surge annihilated both the Golba and Supreme Commander Meldarz, while the allied fleets managed to successfully escape unharmed.
