Antares (AAA-0005 2202) is a United Nations Cosmo Navy Advanced Ablity Armament space battleship of the Andromeda-class One of the first Andromeda-class vessels built, it was launched in 2202 and was deployed to combat the Gatlantis Empire during the Gatlantis Campaign. Antares was commanded by Shigeru Tomiyama it partook in the disastrous Battle of Saturn and Decisive Battle off Mars.

Entering Service[]
Antares was one of the first UNCN Adromeda-class ships to enter service. It launched on December 8, 2202 from the Earth Federation capital together with Aldebaran, Apollo Norm and Achillies following a cerimony held by the E.F.G. President under the watchful eye of the UNCF leadership and Garmillan representatives.[1]
Sometime later, the Antares participated in a fleet exercise near Jupiter along with the Andromeda, three other ships of its class and fourteen Dreadnought-class Vanguard Starship.[4]
At war with Gatlantis[]
Antares and Apollo Norm ready for Battle minutes before the Battle of Saturn
The Antares joined the Andromeda along with hundreds of UNCN vessels at the Battle of Saturn, beating back the Gatlantian invading fleet. When the Ark of Destruction appeared, the Cosmo Navy concentrated its firepower against its core with little effect. The Ark generated a gravity storm to counterattack, throwing the earthling fleet in disarray. Antares menaged to escape the destruction and retreated, but before retreating he evacuated Yamato's crew from the Yamato that had fallen into the Comet. Eventually was subsequently assigned of the Mars Defese Front tasked with holding the Mars absolute defense line during the Decisive Battle off Mars. It briefly fought side-by-side with garmilas forces before they retreated to form a defense line on Earth.

Eventually Gatlantis succeeded in breaking the Mars defense line and the severely damaged Antares was towed to a secure area behind Mars where surviving Mars Defense Front ships gathered alongside Garmilas forces and the Yamato undergoing a refit.[5]

- The Andromeda-class carrier variant seems to be inspired from Ise-class battleship, having conventional weaponry to be replaced with flight deck.
