The Autonomous unmanned Battleship BBB Andromeda Black was[4] a UNCN mass produced line of autonomous Andromeda-class ships created to fight the unimaginable military might of Gatlantis. BBB stands for Black-Berserk-Battalion.[2][5]
Armaments and technical specifications[]
The Andromeda Blacks were armed with the same artillery weapons as other Andromeda-class Starships, but did not carry fighters. They were equipped with high-mobility nozzles placed on the hull in various places, making it possible for them to achieve the high manueverability of a torpedo boat.[2] As they were autonomous battleships, each one was piloted by an AU13 unit.[5]
History[]
The Andromeda Black line were built in anticipation for the Gatlantean invasion of the solar system. The autonomous unmanned system was already in operation on the main battleships of the Dreadnought-class, making it easy to switch production lines and speed up mass production.[6] The first BBB ships were launched from Earth during the Attack on the annihilation missile fleet, it first saw action in the opening phase of the Decisive Battle off Mars when the BBB squadron short-warped inside the Ark of Destruction, only to be easily destroyed by the more than 20,000 ships that Gatlantis had prepared for the battle.[1]

Later during the battle Osamu Yamanami of Andromeda guided a fleet of dozens of Andromeda Blacks in an effort to destroy the Ark's gravity projector, in the end all BBB ships were destroyed in the battle leaving only Andromeda still standing, the ship was later sunk following her rescue of Yamato from the Ark's gravity, but Yamanami menaged to be saved and escape his ship's destruction.[5]
The BBB line was still being built inside of the time fault factory in late December 2203, it was presumably scrapped following the Earth Federation's referndum over wether or not to sacrifice the time fault to save Commanders Yuki Mori and Kodai Susumu for Teresa's Higher Dimension.[7]

- BBB ships all have writings on both sides of their hulls, the writing comes from Psalms 23:4 and recites: "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil For You are with me Your rod and your staff, they comfort me." The verse can be said to express the prayers of the people of Earth who were on the verge of extinction.[6]
