Aldebaran (U.N.C.F. AAA-0002 2202), also U.N.C.F. AAA-2[5] and later (AAA-02), is an Earth Federation Cosmo Navy Advanced Ability Armament space battleship of the Andromeda-class One of the first Andromeda-class vessels built, it was launched in 2202 and was deployed to combat the Gatlantis Empire during the Gatlantis Campaign. Aldebaran was commanded by Captain Kozo Tani it partook in the disastrous Battle of Saturn and was subsequently became the flagship of the UNCN forces at the decisive battle off Mars.
History[]
Entering Service[]
Aldebaran's launch cerimony
Aldebaran was one of the first UNCN Andromeda-class ships to enter service. It launched on December 8, 2202 from the Earth Federation Capital together with Antares, Apollo Norm and Achillies following a cerimony held by the E.F.G. President under the watchful eye of the UNCF leadership and Garmillan representatives.[6]
Sometime later, the Aldebaran participated in a fleet exercise near Jupiter along with the Andromeda, three other ships of its class and fourteen Dreadnought-class Vanguard Starships.[6][1]
Aldebaran belonged to the 7th Fleet, together with Apollo Norm.[4]
At war with Gatlantis[]

The Aldebaran joined the Andromeda along with hundreds of UNCN vessels at the Battle of Saturn, beating back the Gatlantean invading fleet. When the Ark of Destruction appeared, the Cosmo Navy concentrated its firepower against its core with little effect. The Ark generated a gravity storm to counterattack, throwing the Terran fleet in disarray. Aldebaran managed to escape the destruction and retreated, eventually becoming the flagship of the remaining UNCN forces tasked with holding the Mars absolute defense line during the Decisive Battle off Mars. During the battle, Aldebaran became the flagship of the joint Garmillas-Earth fleet[4] and briefly fought side-by-side with Garmillas forces before they retreated to form a defense line on Earth.[7][8][9]
Eventually Gatlantis succeeded in breaking the Mars defense line and the severely damaged Aldebaran was towed to a secure area behind Mars where surviving Mars Defense Front ships gathered alongside Garmillas forces and the Yamato undergoing a refit.[10]
Later service[]
After the conflict, Aldebaran underwent repairs, was given a new designation, and was eventually transferred to the 28th Escort Corps. In October 2207, Aldebaran fired its Wave-motion Gun towards the Dezariam space fortress Ground Reverse together with its fleet in an attempt to stop its invasion of Earth, but had no effect.[2]
Aleternative timeline[]
According to the history of the future told by holy leader Skulldart, the Aldebaran would be dismantled alongside a Calaklum-class Battleship by various ships including a vessel similar to a Pleiades-class Assault Battleship.[11]
