The 810th Air Squad was a United Nations Cosmo Force air unit of the Homeland Air Defense Corps' Far-East District Air Defense Force[2] under Space Defense Command that saw action during the Great Garmillas War. Lieutenant Junior Grade Saburo Kato, the UNCF's top ace, was part of the unit. The 810th Squadron was deployed on February 9, 2199,[3] to fend off a Garmillas air raid at an underground shipbuilding facility at Cape Bonomisaki, Japan.[4][5][1]

Behind the Scenes[]
The Japanese word "航空団, Koku-dan" more accurately translates to "Wing." However the abbreviation SQ is seen on the back of Kato's bomber jacket.[1] The wiki translates the term as "Squad," which certain air forces, such as French and German speaking ones, use as the equivalent to a wing.
