The 6th Armored Space Division, colloquially called the Domel Corps,[2] is a Great Imperial Garmillas Astro Fleet unit under the command of Elk Domel, considered to be the best in the empire's military for its mobility and attack power.[2] It took part in the Gatlantis-Garmillas War and the Garmillas War.
Organization[]
The 6th Armored Space Division is a division of the Astro Fleet's Armored Space Division.[3] At least until his arrest, It was led by General Elk Domel from his flagship Domelaze III, and by the Domel Staff Corps. It was organized into various formations such as the 7th Destroyer Squadron under Lt. Commander Fomt Berger, the 4th Aviation Squadron under Lt. Commander Lyle Ghetto and the 3rd Blitzkrieg Squadron under Lt. Commander Charis Kreuz. Domelaze III was commanded by Vem Heidern who was also the division's senior-most staff officer.[1][4] The dimensional submarine UX-01 was also temporarily part of the 6th Armored Space Division in 2199.[5]
History[]

The 6th Armored Space Division during the Battle of the Small Magellanic Cloud Outskirts
In March of 2199,[6] the 6th Armored Space Division was deployed by Admiral Ditz of the Astro Fleet to the Small Magellanic Cloud, where Lt. General Domel took command of the Small Magellanic Army Group. The Domel Corps beat back the Gatlantean invaders following the Battle of the Small Magellanic Cloud Outskirts.[1][7]

Yamato and Domelaze III during the First Battle against Domel
Months later, Domel was promoted to Colonel General and called back to the home planet Garmillas to be given a new mission. Due to Major General Gremdt Goer's failure at stopping the advance of the Earthling battleship Yamato, Domel was to take his place as Galactic Theater Operation Commander and took control of the Galactic Area Army and the Balun Military Base. Domel requested Admiral Gul Ditz for permission to use the UX-01, a prototype dimensional submarine, in battle against the Yamato. Despite the fact that the ship was under Supreme Leader Desler's personal command, Ditz authorized the transfer. However, the UX-01's ambush failed to stop the Earthlings. The bulk of the 6th Armored Space Division fought against the Yamato in the First Battle against Domel, but right before they could sink the enemy battleship, they were called back and had to leave the battlefield.[8][9][10]
Domel had been accused of assassinating Supreme Leader Desler, and he and his staff were put on trial on Garmillas. The 6th Armored Space Division remained at Balun and was caught in the Planet Balun Breakthrough Operation. Following the destruction of the subspace gate linking Garmillas and Balun, whatever forces remained to the Domel Corps, if any, remained stuck outside the Large Magellanic Cloud and joined Goer's fleet on its months-long journey toward Garmillas.[11][12]
Domel was later acquitted of all charges once Desler reemerged and was asked to resume the fight against Yamato. Due to his forces being months away, he took command of a new temporary unit, the Domel Task Force.[11] The fate of the unit following Domel's death at the battle of the Rainbow Star Cluster remains unknown.[13]

Notes[]
- The mention of the 7th Strike Group could be a nod to the 7th Panzer Division, which Erwin Rommel, namesake of Elk Domel, commanded between February 1940 and February 1941.
- The 6th Armored Space Division is also very likely a reference to the real-life 6th Panzer Divison, made even more apparent as the first commander of the 6th is Generalleutnant Erich Hoepner who shares the same first name as Elk Dommel.
