<p>There isn't just one "true" <i>Yamato</i> universe; there are several universes. Although they are similar in many ways to one another, they are different and separate. Events in one continuity do not directly affect events in others. For example, <i>Yamato III</i> has no bearing on <i>Odyssey of the Celestial Ark</i>, or vice versa. </p><p>One of the ongoing development goals on this wiki is to segregate and organize every topic into their correct continuities. There are three on the wiki right now: "OS" for the original series of episodes, movies, and manga that ran from 1974 to 1983; "live action film" for the standalone 2010 movie; and "2199" for the latest episodes, movies, and manga that started back in 2012 with "Messenger of Iscandar." There will eventually be disambiguation pages, so that users can review the different universes and choose the one that they want. Check out the Susumu Kodai page and the <i>Yamato</i> page for perfect examples. </p><p>Eventually, there should be a fourth category for <i>Star Blazers,</i> which has its own events and stories that are different from what happened in the Japanese OS productions. </p>
